The suspected driver involved in a fatal vehicle crash that claimed the lives of four motorcyclists in Lawrence County on Saturday has been identified as Theresa Manetzke from Aurora, Missouri. It is believed that Manetzke was driving under the influence at the time of the incident.
In Aurora Township, a fatal crash occurred on Saturday morning, resulting in the death of four motorcyclists. The driver responsible for the accident, 51-year-old Manetzke, has been charged with “DWI Resulting in the Death of Two or More People.”
Four individuals from Aurora, namely 17-year-old Kadence Harris, 28-year-old Kameron Hale, 59-year-old James Olmsted, and 61-year-old Linda Anderson, lost their lives in the accident.
In a recent development, it has been reported that Manetzke was driving a vehicle on MO-39 in Aurora, near Lawrence 2175, when the vehicle veered across centerlines and collided with a group of 10 motorcyclists.
Several injured motorcyclists were transported to nearby hospitals in serious condition.
According to authorities, Manetzke was found to be drug impaired after failing a field sobriety test.
According to a probable cause statement released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it has been reported that Manetzke informed the officers present at the scene that she had consumed multiple antipsychotic medications at approximately 9 a.m. on the same day.
Manetzke has been arrested and taken to jail in Springfield, as stated.
The cause of the crash is currently being investigated.
