Theo van Rooyen Identified As Hijacked Krugersdorp Man Found Dead; Suspect Hijacker Dies In Hospital

In Mindalore, Krugersorp on Thursday night, a hijacking resulted in the deaths of two men. One of the men is believed to be the suspect, while the other is believed to be the victim. Both individuals suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head.

According to reports, Theo van Rooyen was allegedly hijacked outside his residence shortly after arriving home at 7:00 pm. It is said that he had stopped at the gate to open it when the incident occurred.

According to reports, a group of three men, one of whom was armed, approached the victim as he was attempting to open his gate. The suspects then allegedly ordered the victim to return to his vehicle. An armed man entered the back seat of the vehicle alongside Van Rooyen, and they departed from the scene.

On that evening, Kerry van der Merwe, the wife of Van Rooyen, took to Facebook to make a fervent appeal for assistance in locating her spouse.

According to Captain Solomon Sibiya of the West Rand Police, Van Rooyen’s vehicle was sighted later that evening and subsequently trailed to Sinqobile by security personnel.

According to reports, two of the suspects fled and abandoned Van Rooyen’s vehicle after becoming aware that they were being followed.

Upon arriving at the vehicle, the guards made a startling discovery: an individual in the back seat had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. According to reports, the individual in the car was not Van Rooyen.

Early yesterday morning, a man was rushed to the hospital where he passed away.

According to Sibiya, police discovered the body of Van Rooyen yesterday morning in an open field adjacent to Soul City informal settlement along Tudor Road.

According to Sibiya, the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
