Kaitie Leising Dead: We are very sad to tell you that Deputy Sheriff Kaitie Leising of the Wisconsin St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office has died, who passed away on Saturday, may 6, 2023.

Deputy Sheriff Kaitie Leising was shot and killed while looking into a single-car accident with a drunk driver south of Glenwood City near the intersection of Route 128 and County Road G.

Kaitie had been talking to the driver for about eight minutes and asked him if he would be willing to take field balance tests.

The man pulled out a gun and started shooting at Deputy Leising all of a sudden. Even though she was badly hurt, she fired back but did not hit the target.

The man ran into the nearby woods, where he killed himself about an hour later after being seen by other cops.
