Samantha Phillips identified as victim in fatal Jonesboro stabbing; Husband, Andre Alexander Isabell arrested

A man suspected of fatally stabbing a lady has been identified by Jonesboro police.

The initial incident report states that on Monday, May 15, at around 2:47 a.m., police were called to a report of a deceased person in the 400-block of Krewson Street.

Officers discovered 44-year-old Samantha R. Phillips with many cuts, contusions, and abrasions on her face when they arrived.

Officers detained her husband, 45-year-old Andre Alexander Isabell, on suspicion of first-degree murder and breaking a no-contact order a short while later.

In anticipation of his initial district court hearing, he is being detained in the Craighead County Detention Center.

Online records show that on January 28, 2022, police detained Isabell after they claimed he repeatedly punched Phillips with his fist, then threatened to slash her throat with a kitchen knife.

The 2022 affidavit stated that Phillips told police Isabell “grabbed her by the throat and started restricting her airway” until she almost passed out.

Isabell was sentenced to 36 months of probation with a 12-month no-contact order on March 31, 2022 after entering a guilty plea to the charge of severe assault on a member of the family or household.
