Rudeboy, a Nigerian singer, has spoken up about the reason for the breach between him and his brother, Paul aka Mr P, which resulted in the disbandment of their group, P-Square.
The twin brothers reconnected in November 2021, after over five years apart, much to the delight of their fans.
Rudeboy revealed that the split was caused by family issues rather than music in an interview with media personality Joey Akan published on Tuesday, June 7.
Despite the outrage from fans following the split, Rudeboy revealed that he remained silent and didn’t say anything because he knew the matter was family-related.
P-Square, he claims, was “the price” he had to pay for the family issue. As he puts it:
“I remained mute.” I didn’t say anything. I never said anything because I was well aware of the situation. It was a family matter, and P-Square ended up having to pay for it. P-Square was merely the price to be paid.”
Rudeboy went on to say that he owes no one an answer because of his devotion for his family. He continued, ”
“It had nothing to do with music; it was a family matter.” And because I value family so highly, I owe no explanation to anyone.”
PSquare’s Paul ‘Rude Boy’ and Peter ‘Mr. P’ Okoye split up due to family strife involving their elder brother and former manager, Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye. PSquare was disbanded in 2016 because to a disagreement about the position of their manager, according to Peter and Paul.
