Jada Pinkett Smith has addressed the viral smack her husband Will Smith delivered Chris Rock at the Oscars two months after it went viral.
On Wednesday, June 1, Jada Pinkett Smith addressed it on her Facebook talk programme “Red Table Talk,” months after her husband hit comedian Chris Rock for making a joke about Pinkett Smith’s shave.
Jada wrote the following regarding the autoimmune illness that caused her hair loss:
“This is an extremely important alopecia ‘Red Table Talk.'” Thousands have reached out to me with their tales in light of what I’ve gone through with my health and what happened at the Oscars.”
“Now, let’s talk about the Oscars,” Pinkett Smith continued. “My biggest want is for these two clever, capable guys to be able to heal, talk it out, and reconcile.” Given the current situation of the world, we require both. Until then, Will and I will keep doing what we’ve been doing for the past 28 years: figuring out this thing we call life together.”
Jada then moved on to a heartbreaking talk with Nicole Ball, whose 12-year-old daughter, Rio, committed suicide after being tormented at school because of her alopecia areata, which caused her hair to fall out.
The 94th Academy Awards were held two weeks after Rio’s death, and Rock remarked that Jada looked like she was auditioning for “G.I. Jane 2.”
“It’s not a joke,” Ball added, referring to the physical issue that led to her child’s death.
Pinkett Smith has been open about her battle with the disease since 2018.
On Wednesday’s broadcast, Jada remarked, “There was so much guilt.” The show also featured a doctor who discussed the problem.
“I guess the aspect that makes it most tough for me is that it comes and goes,” the actress explained. It’s a tough situation. A patch develops, and then another emerges. “Oh, well, what’s my hair going to look like today?” gives me a lot of anxiety.
