In Galveston, a fatal motorbike accident is being investigated.
Around 3 p.m. on Sunday, the Galveston Police Department responded to the 8000 block of Avenue J regarding a serious collision.
The motorcycle was being driven northbound at a fast speed, according to witnesses. When the motorist tried to change lanes, he struck the rear panel of a black Mercedes.
According to authorities, the driver was flung from the motorcycle during the collision and suffered injuries that pose a serious risk of death. On the spot, they were declared dead.
Authorities claim there were no further injuries, and it is unclear whether alcohol use contributed to the collision.
Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
