Last night, tragedy struck when a 32-year-old fireman lost his life in a motorcycle accident. The incident occurred on Jalan Bandau Kampung Purun, where the man collided with a buffalo.
At approximately 8:40pm, a crash occurred resulting in injuries sustained by the victim, Mohd Haziq Abdul Jalil, to his head and body.
At 11.30pm, the individual passed away while receiving medical attention at the Kuala Penyu Hospital.
According to Deputy Superintendent Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaacob, the district police chief, the victim was riding a Yamaha LC motorcycle alone and was returning home from duty at the Kimanis Fire and Rescue Station to Kampung Tidong, Kuala Penyu. Initial investigations suggest this was the case.
When contacted today, he stated that the victim had passed away while receiving treatment at the emergency ward.
According to Yusoff Zaki, the victim’s motorcycle sustained severe damage.
According to investigations conducted at the scene, it was discovered that the area lacked streetlights and was therefore dark. According to reports, the weather was fine.
According to the speaker, the investigation is currently ongoing and they are seeking the cooperation of witnesses to aid in the case.
The investigation of the case is being carried out in accordance with Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
