On the city’s Northwest Side, a woman was discovered deceased inside an apartment, located just one block away from the residence of a woman who was reported missing last Friday.
On Monday night, police were observed entering and exiting an apartment located on the 2000 block of North Kimball in Logan Square. The authorities were seen gathering evidence after the discovery of a body.
The identity of the deceased individual has not been disclosed by officials, however, they have confirmed that her death has been classified as a homicide.
Late Monday evening, the brother of Brittany Battaglia, a 33-year-old woman who has been missing since last Friday, took to social media to announce that the police had confirmed the identity of a woman found in an apartment as his sister.
A family is pleading for information regarding a missing woman from Logan Square, describing the situation as “really odd.”
Residing in the 1900 block of N Kimball Avenue, Brittany Battaglia lives just a block away from where the deceased woman was found.
According to sources, Brittany’s roommate has informed her brother that Brittany did not return to their apartment after visiting her boyfriend’s house to prepare dinner.
The identity of the woman has yet to be disclosed by the medical examiner, and there have been no arrests made in connection with the homicide.
