This week, a man was discovered dead in an alley in Surrey. According to homicide police, the man had been reported missing earlier in the month.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team revealed in a statement on Friday that Shawn Clarke, 49, was the victim found on Wednesday.
According to the information we have so far, this does not seem to be related to the gang violence in British Columbia, a spokesperson said in a press statement.
When police arrived at the scene near 103A Avenue and Old Yale Road about 5 p.m., they found the death to be “suspicious,” according to the authorities.
According to an earlier statement from the local RCMP detachment, Clarke was last seen in Surrey on April 18 and reported missing on May 1. The statement added it was “out of character for him to be out of contact.”
