Man struck and killed by vehicle in downtown Boise now identified as 66-year-old Jeffrey Garrett

The body of Jeffrey Garrett, age 66, who was killed on May 1 in downtown Boise after being struck by a car was identified by the Ada County Coroner on Friday. Garrett passed away on May 11 at a nearby hospital, according to Boise Police.

In Boise, at about 5:45 p.m. on May 1, police reported that Garrett was struck by a car on 16th Street. His cause of death is listed by the coroner as “multiple blunt force injuries.”

According to the Boise Police Department, the man from Boise was struck by a car that was driving south on 16th Street as he crossed the street from east to west beneath an overpass. The occurrence took place close to Rhodes Skate Park.

Police raced at the spot and closed off the adjacent roads while they conducted their investigation.

There are no active charges pending as of the Boise Police investigation.
