On Thursday night, a man was fatally shot in a Kroger parking lot. According to police, the incident may have been sparked by an altercation over line-cutting inside the grocery store just a few minutes prior.
At approximately 10:15 p.m., Columbus police were called to the scene of a shooting at the Kroger located on Morse Road in the northeast area of Columbus.
A person has been reported shot dead in west Columbus.
A person who had been shot was discovered by officers. The individual passed away approximately one hour later at a medical facility.
Overnight, investigators were busy collecting evidence and questioning multiple witnesses.
A second suspect has been apprehended in relation to the fatal shooting that occurred in north Columbus.
According to Columbus Police Homicide Detective Chris Journey, a private security guard got involved in a line-cutting dispute. However, shortly after the incident, a man attempted to rob a customer who was involved in the dispute in the parking lot as retaliation.
According to Journey, shots were fired by the man, resulting in the security guard shooting and killing him.
