Lenoir City High School Shooting: Man Accidentally Shoots Himself in Leg at Lenoir City School Graduation Shooting
Lenoir City High School Shooting: According to Lenoir City Police Chief Don White, a man who attended the graduation ceremony at Lenoir City High School on Friday night accidently shot himself as he was leaving the event.
The man, who has not yet been named, took a gun to the commencement ceremony on the football field, according to White.
At this point, it is unclear if the injured person is a student or a spectator to the ceremony.
The gun went off when the man was returning to his pickup, hitting him in the leg, according to White.
White insisted that there was no hostile intent even though it is unclear why the man brought the pistol. Being armed on school grounds is prohibited.
Although White was unsure of the man’s injury’s full degree, she described it as “serious.”
According to him, the individual might be charged for possessing a firearm on school grounds.
Lenoir City Police continues to investigate the incident.
