Joe Louis Washington Identified As Victim Of Fatal Shooting in Seat Pleasant

The suspect(s) who fatally shot a man on Wednesday night are being sought by the Homicide Unit for identification and arrest. According to sources, the victim has been identified as 32-year-old Joe Louis Washington from Brandywine.

A reward of up to $25,000 has been announced by authorities for any information that could lead to an arrest and indictment in relation to this case.

At around 8:45 pm on May 31, 2023, the Seat Pleasant Police Department received a report of a shooting in the 6000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway. Officers were dispatched to the scene in response to the call.

Upon arriving at the scene, Mr. Washington was found outside and was observed to be suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual was transported to the hospital and was declared deceased shortly thereafter.

According to reports, two more adult males were shot and subsequently transported to a nearby hospital.

According to sources, the injuries sustained by the individual(s) are reported to be non-life threatening.

Detectives are currently investigating to determine the identity of the suspect(s) and the motive behind the incident.

The Seat Pleasant Police Department is currently investigating all homicides that occur within the city.
