Graeme Lee McColm Identified As Calgary Murder Victim, Suspect Identified

The identity of a man who was fatally shot in the Vista Heights community on Thursday has been disclosed by the Calgary police, along with the identity of the man who has been accused of his murder.

Reports of shots fired prompted officers to respond to the 2500 block of 23 Street N.E. shortly after 5:30 p.m.

At the scene, a man was discovered with gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Following the shooting incident, law enforcement officials promptly reacted to two distinct crashes that are suspected to be linked to the aforementioned shooting.

A man was found with what seemed to be a gunshot wound and was declared dead by first responders.

According to police, on Friday, an autopsy was conducted and it was revealed that the deceased individual has been identified as 41-year-old Graeme Lee McColm.

On Thursday, May 18, 2023, Calgary police launched an investigation into a shooting incident that was followed by two related crashes.

At the intersection of 26 Street N.E. and Sunridge Boulevard N.E., officers have taken a suspect into custody at the location of the second crash.

Calgary police announced on Friday that Tyler James Redden, a 26-year-old resident of Calgary, has been charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder.

According to sources, he is set to make an appearance in court on May 26.
