Eteyi Deborah, who accused celebrities of neglecting late Leo Mezie, was slammed by Kanayo O. Kanayo and Walter Anga.

Actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has reacted angrily to a critic who claimed that Nigerian celebs ignored actor Leo Mezie when he sought funding before his death.

Leo Mezie passed away on Saturday, May 14, after a kidney transplant. Actress Chioma Toplis revealed his death on Instagram on Monday. This follows the deaths of approximately ten actors since the beginning of the year.

In response to the unfortunate loss, an Instagram user named Eteyi Deborah said that the actor tried unsuccessfully to get donations from his colleagues while he was still alive.

Kanayo O. Kanayo, enraged by Deborah’s statement, stormed the comment section of the post announcing Mezie’s death, criticising the critic for her remark. He said:

“Eteyi, you are an idiot to talk down on celebrities. Are you one? Are you of the Actor’s Union? Did anyone call for your assistance by any means?

It’s only in Nigeria that nitwits like you talk about celebrities not doing anything or enough for a societal cause or one another. Looking at your page, you have no followership, therefore, it’s safe to conclude you are looking for relevance.”

Deborah was also chastised by another actor, Walter Anga, who warned her not to make any further accusations.

“Auntie say what you know oh!!! You guys just talk less about people in the industry without knowing what and how they have assisted. Must everyone come to SM to tell things that were done without bringing it to social media?”
