Clifford Mitchell, 64-Year-Old Man Dies after Being Crushed by Tree in Licking County

Clifford Mitchell Death: A man was killed Monday after a tree he was cutting down fell on him in Licking County.

Around 2:30 pm, according to the Licking County Sheriff’s Office, workers were sent to the 8700 block of Linnville Southeast Road in Newark.

Clifford Mitchell, 64, was cutting down a tree on his property with a chainsaw when the tree toppled on him, trapping him underneath, according to the sheriff’s office.

When Mitchell’s wife saw him unresponsive, she dialed 911. At the scene, he was identified as deceased.
