Cameron Police Officer, Sergeant Joshua Clouse and Albert Acosta Shot to Killed in Texas Shooting
Joshua Clouse Death: The Texas Rangers are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting in Milam County late Wednesday night.
Sergeant Joshua Clouse of Cameron, age 39, has been confirmed as the officer by the Milam County Sheriff’s office.
On May 10, at 10:55 p.m., the Cameron Police Department was called to the 700 block of North Travis in reference to complaints of a woman being shot in the back of the neck by her partner.
According to DPS, the woman traveled a few blocks from her home to the closest convenience store to seek assistance.
Authorities requested a search warrant for a residence in the 500 block of East 7th Street after they arrived on the scene.
The suspect opened fire when law enforcement authorities from several nearby agencies sought to serve the warrant, according to the Milam County Sheriff’s Office.
During that gunfight, the suspect, 29-year-old Cameron resident Albert Acosta, was also fatally wounded. After receiving medical attention for his injuries, Clouse eventually passed away.
At this point, the general public is not in immediate danger, according to Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore.
Outside the police station is Officer Clouse’s patrol car, which has a wreath on it. Residents are encouraged to pass by and pay their condolences by placing flowers on it.
The shooting is being looked into by the Texas Rangers.
