Body of missing Delray Beach Basketball coach found at the Delray Oaks Natural Area

Police said that a 31-year-old youth basketball coach who had been missing since the previous weekend had been discovered dead in Delray Beach.

According to a Facebook post by Delray Beach police, Makuach Yak’s body was found Friday night in the Delray Oaks Natural Area, south of Linton Boulevard and west of Congress Avenue.

He was last seen on May 20 in the 300 block of Southwest 10th Avenue, where his body was discovered 2.5 miles to the south. Last Saturday while out for a run, Yak vanished.

The medical examiner will ascertain the cause, but according to the police, the death did not appear to be criminal in nature.

All week, his family and friends had been looking for him.

The public is welcome to use the 25-acre Delray Oaks Natural Area for passive recreation like hiking, nature photography, and bird watching as well as environmental education.
