Actress Patience Ozokwo laments the absence of working with seasoned performer Olu Jacobs on set.
This was remarked by the 63-year-old at Jacobs’ 80th birthday celebration on Sunday at Lagos’ Glover Memorial Hall.
Patience Ozokwo also praised the actor for his acting abilities, calling him unique. Her words are:
“I’m missing him on set, he can play an Igbo king, he can play a Yoruba king, in fact, I don’t think anybody can replace him.”
Hilda Dokubo, Ali Baba, Taiwo Ajayi Lycett, Victor Osuagwu, Ego Boyo, Ireti Doyle, Ini Edo, Kunle Afolayan, Ngozi Nwosu, and his wife Joke Silva were among the other attendees.
Joke confessed that her husband has dementia and that it has been difficult for her and the rest of the family in an interview with Chude Jideonwo in November 2021.
A lifetime achievement award was given to Olu Jacobs during the 2021 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF). On July 11, 2022, the seasoned actor will turn 80.
