The gunshot victim in Mercer County has been named.
Javon Lowe, 18, was shot on Pen Mar Avenue in Bluefield, West Virginia, and suffered gunshot wounds that ultimately led to his death, according to Detective Kenneth Adams of the Bluefield Police Department.
According to Detective Adams, Lowe and another man were engaged in a heated altercation. After disagreeing with the 19-year-old, Lowe drove to his home and started shooting, hitting him in the knee.
According to Adams, a 43-year-old who was on the porch was also struck. The 43-year-old was injured in the head and spine while attempting to flee the gunfire.
The 19-year-old shot back, striking Lowe twice.
Adams claimed that once Lowe lost consciousness, he drove off and slammed into a nearby garage. When Lowe arrived at the Princeton Community Hospital Bluefield Campus, doctors declared him dead.
Both patients had non-life-threatening injuries, and the 19-year-old was brought to Princeton Community Hospital Bluefield Campus while the 43-year-old was sent to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
The inquiry is ongoing, and there are currently no charges pending.
